Terms of Service
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Genie, operated by Gopher Tech, LLC ("Genie", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy.
The service
Genie reads commit and pull request data from GitHub repositories you explicitly authorize via the Genie GitHub App and delivers summaries to the channels you configure (Slack, Telegram, Discord, email, and others). Genie does not modify your repositories.
Accounts
You must be at least 13 years old and legally able to enter into a binding contract. You are responsible for the security of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us promptly at hi@genie.tech if you suspect unauthorized access.
Acceptable use
- Only connect repositories you have the right to access and share.
- Keep your Slack, Discord, Telegram, and email delivery destinations private and under your control.
- Do not probe, scan, or disrupt the integrity or performance of the service.
- Do not use the service to violate any law or third-party rights, or to distribute malware, spam, or harmful content.
- Respect rate limits and reasonable usage caps as published in the app.
Your content
You retain ownership of your repositories, commit messages, and any other content you or your GitHub account generate ("Your Content"). You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to access, process, transmit, display, and generate derivative works from Your Content solely to provide the service to you. This license ends when you disconnect the repository or delete your account, except for backups or logs retained for the periods described in the Privacy Policy.
Billing
Paid plans and credits are billed through Stripe. Fees are charged in advance and are non-refundable except where required by law. Credits do not expire unless stated at the time of purchase. We may change pricing on 30 days' notice; price changes do not apply to already-purchased credits. Failure to pay may result in suspension of paid features.
Our commitments
- We will deliver digests on the schedule you configure on a commercially reasonable best-effort basis.
- We will maintain the service at commercially reasonable uptime.
- We will protect your data in accordance with the Privacy Policy.
- We will give you advance notice of material changes to these Terms.
Third-party services
Genie depends on third-party services including GitHub, Slack, Telegram, Discord, Stripe, Supabase, Vercel, Neon, Resend, Anthropic, OpenAI, OpenRouter, and Together. Your use of those services through Genie is also subject to their terms. We are not responsible for their availability or actions.
AI-generated output
Digests and summaries are generated by large language models and may contain errors, omissions, or inaccuracies. Use Genie output as an assistant, not as a source of record. You are responsible for reviewing and validating output before acting on it. We make no warranty that output will be accurate, complete, or fit for any particular purpose.
Suspension and termination
You may terminate your account at any time by emailing hi@genie.tech. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, present a security risk, or remain inactive for extended periods. Where practical, we will provide notice and a reasonable opportunity to cure or export your data before termination.
Warranty disclaimer
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE.
Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, GOPHER TECH, LLC AND ITS OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, REVENUES, DATA, OR GOODWILL ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID TO US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM AND (B) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS.
Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Gopher Tech, LLC from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of your use of the service, Your Content, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions. The exclusive venue for any dispute arising out of these Terms or the service will be the state or federal courts located in Sheridan County, Wyoming, and you consent to personal jurisdiction there.
Changes to these Terms
We may modify these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email and reflected in the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of the service after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
